Karin Alvtegen (born 8 June , Huskvarna, Sweden) is a Swedish author of crime fiction. Alvtegen's psychological thrillers are generally set in Sweden. Four of her books have been translated into English: Missing, Betrayal, Shadow and Shame.
Life and career
[edit]Alvtegen's second novel, Missing, was awarded the premier Nordic crime writing prize the Glass Key award in [1] Translated in and published in the United States in , the novel was nominated for the Edgar Award for best novel by the Mystery Writers of America.[2] In , the novel was adapted into the television miniseries Missing, directed by Ian Madden and with Joanne Froggatt and Gregor Fisher.
Alvtegen's novel Shame was shortlisted for the Crime Writers' AssociationDuncan Lawrie International Dagger award for crime novels in translation upon publication in English.
